WWII FIGURES![]()
Copied from Airfix figures in PVC I think. They are factory painted and were made to compete w/ Britains. They were sold on individual small blister cards and in larger cards. They made four WWII sets each with six different poses.

Steamroller, 30/35mm, HP.

large hollow hard plastic farm animals were made by gluing the two halves together. With factory painted highlights.

Mini Trains and streetcars are made of soft plast and are about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches long.

Reliable copied Bergen GIs in both the plug base and integral base styles. They swapped the US helmet for the British pot helmet. Some integral base figures are marked on their backs but most are not.

Made by the same company that makes all of the metal military vehicles in 1:48 scale. These figures are made of polyethylene, are painted and stand about 60mm in size. Some have added camoflage added to their helmets. I do not know if this was by the manufacturer or done by a collector. They are similar to Crescent and Timpo (prone figure seems to be a copy of US Tim-Mee figure) and probably date to the early 1960s.

- SOLPA Russian Infantry

Made in Australia 75mm WWII Soldiers, semiflat. Sold individually and on cards. Jack Ford kindly provided this information; These are not cereal toys but part of set of 6 toy soldiers, we call WOOLIES AUSSIE DIGGERS. Figures also came in red and the missing, sixth figure is a soldier sitting and firing a Vickers heavy machine gun. These toy soldiers as well as a series of hard plastic toy cars and toy trains (all with plastic wheels) were made for Australias then two major department store chains Woolworths (i.e Woolies) and Coles/Pennys. These department stores had shops throughout most cities and towns across Australia and each shop had a toy section. These R&L; toys were cheap to buy and so suited the shopping market serviced by Woolies or Coles.
